I liked these wheels, until I saw the cutouts on the spokes. having them painted the color of the car might be interesting though.

JUST an FYI, Enkei makes a new rim very very similar to this without the cutouts...

Only the SPs come with the cut outs and they are more expensive. If you order just the regular ones, you'll be fine.

Has anyone gotten these yet? Can one of the vendors post the exact offsets for the regular version? I'm seeing 18x9.5 in +40 and +43, but want to make sure. Also if anyone can chime in on whether the regular versions in 9.5 are as concave as the SP versions we are seeing.
Thanks |

Hmmm, not sure about that question but I do believe the concavity is the same irrespective of whether they are the SP version with the cut outs or not on both 18's and 19's. If anything the concavity will look more pronounced on the 18's if the rim is the same width. The Rays Japan website has pics.

So I was at Vivid Racing the other day, since they seem to be the local distributor for these wheels and I specifically wanted the black wheels with the cutouts...sadly they wont be making the gloss black versions of the wheel that was posted in the OP. For those that want to know the cutouts are not a bunch of randomly cutout shapes. On the inside of the "V" the cutouts are long, starting from the bottom of the V, on the outside its a small cutout near the lip. In person the cutouts actually look pretty slick.
The Satin Black replaced the gloss, it looks good but I'd have to see it in person on my car to give the final verdict since I've always been more fond of "shiny" wheels versus the matte trend. |
