If they haven't been before, take them to Yosemite. The scenery alone is worth at least three or four track days, especially if you hit up Glacier Point. And while you're there you can take your wife to a romantic dinner at the Ahwahnee Lodge or the Mountain Room. That's another track day, plus romantic sex.

Gas is pretty cheap considering you're buying liquid explosive dinosaurs.

Been a few years since we've been to Yosemite. Like 7 years. We stayed in a cabin within the park. It was great, but I really enjoyed the hike we took near the cabin. There was a waterfall and almost nobody around.

There's a campground near the base of the Half Dome trail. If your kids are old enough, you could camp there and do Half Dome. Make sure to bring some old leather gloves or gardening gloves for the chains up the back of the mountain.

American cars aren't as unreliable as German ones, but man, Honda and Toyota just spoil me. I know the FR-S and BRZ have gotten crappy ratings for reliability, but they're nothing like what I went through with my BMWs. Not even close.

The quad cab is what you drove then, the crew cab is larger and a direct comparison to the Tundra double cab.

I had a Ram 1500 rental for a day while my car was in the shop. I hated it. When I need a truck, I'll rent it. We ended up getting the EXACT OPPOSITE of a truck, a Fiat 500e. Still have the BRZ, of course.

I do need a utility trailer now, though. I'll haul it with the Forester, which sadly can only haul 1000lbs or 1500lbs with trailer brakes. I'm thinking a 5x8, maybe in aluminum. Thoughts? BigTex looks good, as does Aluma. Aluma is especially expensive, but helps with the weight issues. Plus the trailer will be uncovered all the time, so it should last better. Costs like twice as much, though. A local place carries Carson trailers, which sound alright. Anyone know anything about these small trailers?
