My mistake it was eathanol not octane. Haven't discussed the whole chirping issue in awhile. Mine doesnt have it either ever since i switched to mobile from shell/cheveron

Perhaps. But it's common to make running changes to materials and processes as failure modes are discovered.

The best of the breed is always the last year of production! Then the learning curve starts all over again with the "new and improved" model.

My thought. I'm willing to bet they'll be back in full force three months from now.

In my experience, it always seems that when I fill up at a station that has ethanol in the gas I get the crickets. I can't say for sure that's what it is (since I've done no scientific testing).

I don't think we've heard it enough yet so I'll say it once more..

We'll see if the crickets come back in summer. I also noticed zero cricket noise and I thought it was due to the tune. Tune raises idle rpm to 700.

25k miles. Have had the pump changed three times. Crickets still there. Solution...LS2 swap or UEL headerback. Case closed.

I don't get this cricket thing. I purchased my car May 2013 in Florida and I've never heard a single cricket come from my car!

There is no rhyme or rhythm to this issue. My case, my '14 had them from day one. To test out the octane theory I got chevron '91, a bottle of octane boost, and had my 5,000 mile service. They're gone? I kind of miss them...
