I see you failed to read the part where i said "I have no one to blame but myself and they were just doing their job."

I happily paid the $170 fine because I know I broke the law.

But how much was your lawyer fees?

I'm just c urious because I have a Perrin exhaust which is one of the quietest of all the aftermarket exhausts and if a simple peek at it determines if i go to the ref or not, I'm gonna be scared lol.
H e was probably behind me following or something, last thing i did was downshift to make a left turn on the light.

I wish I had an answer, but I don't know. I split prepaid legal with my ex-wife, which covers this crap at no extra cost. The point I'm trying to make is that you should avoid points on your record whenever possible, they hurt in the long run. Good luck!

in California, you can take an online traffic school course to remove the points from your license so your insurance doesn't go up. you can only take it once every 18 months though.

I'm boosted and this is my fear. lol.
My car looks bone stock except for the loud exhaust. I think I'll keep it that way to blend in.

You can modify your exhaust to be quiet or loud through the flip of a switch or by pedal input. Corvettes have this as part of their performance exhaust. It's mild when driving slow, but it goes wild when you mash the pedal.

Pot calling the kettle black. You live in SFV

"
24005. It is unlawful for any person to sell, offer for sale,
lease, install, or replace, either for himself or as the agent or
employee of another, or through such agent or employee, any glass,
lighting equipment, signal devices, brakes, vacuum or pressure hose,
muffler, exhaust, or any kind of equipment whatsoever for use, or
with knowledge that any such equipment is intended for eventual use,
in any vehicle, that is not in conformity with this code or
regulations made thereunder."

Looking at your build, you have tinted windows, modified intake tube, clear side marker and modified taillight. Technically you are in violation with the law also.

Thanks for your input, Cal... I had no idea that I, too, am breaking the law!

I previously lived (and now currently live) in AZ where none of those things are an issue. I also chose modifications that were subtle enough to not immediately ring alarm bells - my car looks and sounds like it could be stock. It even passed CA inspection and smog exactly as is.

I know that the modifications I've made are illegal and, rather than shout from the rooftops that my car is illegal, I've chosen to fly under the radar.

Haha I live in the SFV too, so many cops especially in the neighborhoods I go to, I have to prey everytime since my car is ridiculously loud. You've probably heard me before lol.

Ref tickets suck, my friend is just paying the fine and getting it over with, it's such a hassle.

I've never seen your car around here, do you ever do any canyon runs or go to any events around here?

  1. Do you want to skip the state ref?
  2. Put it back to stock.
  3. Go to your nearest Toyota/Subaru dealer and trade your car to a similar one.
  4. Reinstall all your ricey mods back to your new car.
  5. Do some ricey stunts on the freeway/public roads.
  6. Get another fixing ticket, and court date.
  7. Go back to step 1.

Repeat steps until all of us who owns a twin will get bad reps to cops.
