What is a decent time for Big Willow on stock tires and suspension? I couldn't make it past 76mph in (not exiting) turn 2. How much time would stickier, non-slick tires take off?

Try -2.4 front -2.3 rear, 1/16" total toe-in front and rear.

You'll need front camber plates and rear lower control arms to achieve this, if you don't have them already.

Running at an event with higher quality drivers and less traffic would be a great start.

I did a 1:37.003 back in 2012 with a stock car and a passenger. My entry speed was around 102-104.

Seat time will help you more than tires, but stickier tires will help cornering speeds while hurting straight line speeds, sit's a trade off, especially with a low powered car.

You should come out to the 86CUP.

Depending on the width and size, yes. I need more info.

I need to buy summer tires for daily driving + 3/4 occasional track events every season. I have to stick to 215/45 R17 because of law issues, I can't go with 225, and Michelin Pilot Super Sports are not available in 215/45 in EU. What is your recommendation? I'm torn between sticky tires (AD08R, Ecsta XS) or performance tires (RE002, Advan Sport V105...): my main concern is to not destroy the latter type on a few laps because of overheat.

EDIT: Car is currently stock, I will upgrade soon pads + lines + fluid, and eventually add a little drop (lowest as possible) but it won't happen soon. Stock power. I'll also do like 8k KM on street every season, so my plan is to have each set of tires for 2 seasons and change it before it becomes old.

Just tested the new Maxxis VR-1's this weekend. Held up very well with 2+* camber in 35* heat all day on a "stockish" 86. They'll be released in June. Treadwear 140

For the other choices, check out the tirerack video comparing AD08, XS, RE11 and Direzza's. I've never driven any of them on an 86 so others will hopefully chime in with their opinions.

Hope this helps

Go with the sticky compound.

Hi, yes, I've done a lot of research. The main doubt is going with Extreme Performance or Max Performance (PSS excluded), not the exact tire inside the group. This is also because, for example, in the Extreme category the only tires for sale here are the Kumho XS and the Yoko AD08R, all the others (Direzza DII, Hankook R-S3, Bridgestone RE11 and 71) are not for sale in Italy.

I'll also add that I'm not an experienced track driver, but a newbie. I've red a lot of your posts suggesting to start with good but not extremely grippy tires to better learn the limits of the car. Have you changed opinion?

Nope.

They're sticky, relative to the "non-sticky" tires you're comparing them to, but they're not sticky compared to race rubber.

Give the RE11A a try.

Unfortunately not available here. The only alternative is the AD08R. I'll but the Kumho, I hope they won't be to noisy on the street.

Can you also suggest a tire a step lower (Max Perf) that will survive some track events (newbie, not pro driver), excluding Michelin PSS?
