Yeah they will ship it from San Diego and you also can pick it up from there when you come back that's what I had to do. Hopefully you have good luck because they damaged so many cars on those boats when I was there and even dropped a couple in the ocean haha.

Cops are everywhere there though so watch out! I was stationed at Schofield barracks up by north shore so if you ever wanna no places to go or things to do don't hesitate to ask. You should have a blast though I know I did!

Nice! Have you decided on twin scroll or single scroll?

Any tips or tricks on pulling all the dash pieces off. (Ring around shifter, rings around air vents, main dash panel, etc)

I have taken off all of them and they are easy but, the a/c rings need to be taken off slowly. The shifter is easy just pull up from the front first. The radio bezal is also easy just start at the bottom and gently pull up. Then pull outward and the same for the airbag cover. The a/c side panels are fairly easy as well. The pocket will pop out straight as well. The side panels have 2 screws at top behind radio bezel. Anything else just google + me.

Most likely single scroll UEL for high pulse pressure for lower transient lag. I'll talk it over with JDL when I get to ordering the parts in the end. But I think I would rather put 1k into the head than into the turbo setup for faster spool.

With 11:1 and the GTX wheel i don't think lag will be too bad... I am going to look into what i may need to possibly upgrade to possibly do a "light" ignition anti-lag. if its feasible I may go for it. I am going to ask JDL if they think it would be feasible to use a heavier wall or something on the manifold to withstand the stress and maybe some brackets. Its still all on the drawing board though. The bottom end of the motor is pretty much ready to go on the parts list, we have it all planned out. Still have a few bits to work on with the heads & fuel system.

IIRC only 2 cars have this. Jessie (the owner but he is building a new motor) and one customer but he is still putting his car together i think. JDL got crazy busy building headers, and slowed down on turbo production but they are back at it. Their UEL looks promising, its cheaper and with the long runner length i have high hopes for performance close to their twin scroll setup. And it should sound sexy as hell.

Its for sale. I keep considering using it... and getting it upgraded to the race edition and just doing a 9,000RPM build so i can get decent gas mileage. But I think i am going to give a high compression turbo build a try since everyone tells me it is a bad idea.

JDL UEL ftw, for sure. That's what I want to go with, I think, mated to a NP front/overpipe & NP 3" axle back.

I plan on just paying JDL to make me a matched up 3" overpipe (as they now make one). And right off the bat ill be stock front pipe & axle back and probably try a muffler delete to see how loud it is. (Turbos make great mufflers!). One day ill make an exhaust... -.- its at the bottom of my list. I want an actuated muffler or an actuated cutout (i used to have one on a previous car, it was great!)

Seconded. Wills is going to apply Cquartz Finest to my BRZ on the 16th. I've heard nothing but good things about their work and the product. Apparently CQuartz is slicker and glossier than Opticoat. Wills said Opticoat is almost tacky feeling.

If you call him and tell him about your color he'll recommend one or the other.

I was more commenting on the difficulties of car ownership on the islands. High gas prices, lots of tourists and cops, and it's hard to take a roadtrip. On the bright side, there are some great roads and the 86 community is pretty active.

Wills is awesome, his work is pricey, but definitely worth it. CQuartz or Opti-coat will protect the paint for a long time. I think these days Wills is recommending Cquartz more often, especially for dark-colored cars as it makes the darker colors shine better. Plus the new formulation of Opti-Coat is apparently not as good. However, I have the original opti-coat on my car and it's great.

Will your rods come with a warranty? :P

I didn't ask. That'd be superb. Bahaha. They are however rated to handle a minimum of 1200hp. So these should last a little longer.... lol.

I still need to find a damn acceptable to street clutch for a fair price :x tempted to see how much abuse this exedy stage 1 can handle.... Lol
