Which method are you recommending? I know you had some issues with the one in the first post. Someone recommended using a Wolstentech Relay at post 42 which seems to look pretty simple

edit: doh, somehow missed your huge text at the top of the post.

I am still using my original method without any issues since day one. Works perfectly.

The new method is simpler and should work better, so I would try that first.

I did the FA20club kit that came with injectors and pump. I'm still running the stock pump, and I need to get the time to do some logging.

I have seen several people complain about this slight hesitation in the 2-3k range. From what I have seen from my logs and several different tunes, the hesitation is caused by timing being pulled and then added back. In your logs go to 2D mode and look for knock correction values of near -5. Wherever you see knock correction you will also see your total timing decrease at the same time in that zone.

This ecu or motor doesn't like boost and timing advance in this rpm zone. I believe I read that cylinder pressures are extremely high here. It is up to your tuner to get the timing right so that the ecu isn't pulling timing.

Keeping an eye on the advance multiplier also can tell you if your motor is often pulling timing due to knock. Ideally you want the advance multiplier at 1. The map I am running now has the AM pegged at 1 all the time which is great.

I too have experienced this part throttle hesitation from 2k-3k. My tuner can smooth it out though. BrzEdit is the tool.

I think the FA20 motor in general is pretty anemic below 3k, fi or not. You gotta drive it hard.

I don't know. After coming from several Hondas, this thing pulls pretty hard below 3k for an N/A 2.0. The tune helped quite a bit though...

@Opposed.. You may be right. I don't claim to be an expert on small displacement high strung motors. I am used to having massive amounts of torque available at low to midrange rpms. There is a reason why the phrase "no replacement for displacement" was coined. Granted, turbos can change that notion to a degree. I do enjoy this car in FI form nonetheless, especially past 4k rpm.

Yes you do, i don't rely on just your tuners tune or logs.
