Yeah, yeah. LOL. I tried that. The intake is in the way. I need to find my offset extensions and see if that will work.

Questions and Discussion on Vortech Supercharging Systems
It's do able just a bitch. You def need an offset extension. I had a hard time when I installed mine. What was even harder was finding a way to tighten it all down

Maybe we should start a new dyno thread? It might get cluttered here.

Well if thats the case does it make a difference? Because that's not how I read the instructions because in page 8 section G: Unplug the Mass Air Flow (MAF) connector from the MAF sensor located on the air filter lid. Disconnect the rubber inlet duct from the throttle and remove it with the air filter lid and set aside. Unfasten the air filter box at the three mounts and remove. Remove and save the rubber cushion mount assemblies and hardware for reinstallation in a later step. The duct and other air filter box components will not be reused.

They are probably referring to the intake tube which they refer to as a "rubber inlet duct" |

I never used the snorkel and wonder now if it makes any measurable difference.

I didn't use mine. I remember trying to do some checking of before and after from simple logging and didnt notice anything standing out as for IAT but it was a while back so I really don't remember. It seems as if I was getting a higher flow without the snorkel though. If I still had my unit I would test it =( It is possible to remove the snorkel without removing the bumper if someone was to test it. On an NA car the IAT's go up a fair bit but they don't have something cooling the air further in the pipework.

My factory Vortech belt finally broke after 32,000 moderately hard miles on the kit.
It completely peeled off one rib. I looked at all the pulleys and really couldn't determine the mode of failure. I do know the belt dealigned itself one time with a portion of the belt riding the edge of the AC pulley for an unknown number of miles. I realigned it and drove for about 1,000 miles before I had this failure My theory of the belt dealignment is that under sudden hard acceleration, the engine rotates which causes the belt to lose tension. It's probably a combined effect with the belt not being aligned straight on the idler pulleys.
