Start from Las Virgenes then to Mulholland Hwy (The Snake, @bisdak's favorite) to Decker canyon then to PCH. Have a good lunch. Relax at the beach then head back. On the way back, take Yerba Buena Rd. This road is not well maintained but very fun. This turns to Little Sycamore Canyon Rd, then hit Mulholland Hwy and decide to go further or call it a day. But let's plan this after the Expo.
 Almost forgot, bring your camera.

bisdak, I've been there. I just go half-way and turn right on kanan(no pun intended) to 23 then enter 101. I'll be fine with a half tank of gas. 15-20 miles drive from the 405 on the 101 to the start and may be about 40-50 round trip in the mountains.
