Noob wheel questions - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Hi Guys,

I am interested in buying some wheels for my vehicle. Sorry, but I am a noob when it comes to wheels as I have never bought a set before.

The wheels I want are the Work - Emotion XD9 18x9.0 (front) and 18x10.0 +38 (rear).

I basically want the exact setup as this car here (just different colour):

I don't understand what they mean by (2" Lip) and (3" Lip). Can someone please explain this to me?

Also, will these wheels fit on my car without any problems? How would I order 2 wheels of one spec and 2 wheels of another spec?

In the link you posted. See the rear wheel. The very edge of the rim to the front face of the rim spokes is the lip. ....... since your getting 18X10 you can put a larger tire on the rim for the rear that why you have a 3" lip. 18X9 on the front is going to be narrow tire( not as wide) because of your turning radius.

Oh,and your Insurance company won't want to know.
Contrary to popular opinion,there is such a thing as too wide.This is it.

The only way to make those fit is to dump it on it's ass.

You'll need coilovers + rear LCAs for camber + rear toe-links (for the inevitable dumping).
You'll run crazy camber, crazy tyres, then the insurance company and police will be all over you.

But surely a square 18x9 or 17x9 ET38-42 setup isn't that exteme.

That picture of that car needs to be taken from the rear so you can see that fully sik stance of stupid camber it has to fit the wheels under the guards.
I have 18x9.5 +38 and the rim edge pokes with it dropped about 25mm and decent camber.

I have 8.5in +32 all round on my car. Only 20mm lower than standard. VERY little camber on rear. rears sit perfectly flush, fronts have a smidge of poke.
super wide rims will negatively affect the way your car performs, as well as being illegal. But your car

I think the other thing you have to be careful of is increasing the track. You are normally not allowed to increase it by more than 25mm.
