If you don't like that, then pull timing.

Maybe Jack can comment on the best strategy, but that's what I understood from him.

So Fuel in / standard timing 92 octane? Not sure about the nomenclature here.

He's suggesting to start with 92 Oct F~ T~
If that doesn't work, try 92 Oct F+ T~
And if that doesn't work for you, try 92 Oct F+ T-

For me, none of the 92 Oct maps work. They feel a little laggy or stock. My car seem to run better with 89 Oct and Timing In (T+). I'm using Chevron gas and my bolt-on configuration is Perrin Inlet Hose & Apexi drop-in.

92 Fuel in, Timing out caused a too rich CEL and the car stopped running at my recent autocross.

I guess I'll give 92Oct F+/T~ and F+/T- next. I haven't tried any of the Fuel in maps yet actually.

I'm at sea level on the East Coast (Myrtle Beach SC) and we have access to 93 octane.

I am still loving the 92 Octane Fuel ~ Timing + map for drop in filter.

I have a K&N panel filter currently in the car. Car is so smooth and responsive and just seems to get better and better the more I drive it. I have an Invidia N1 exhaust that I'll be installing this weekend so I'll see how that changes things.

Those of you on the fence regarding this mod, it's worth it just to get the car running decently. The OEM tune on the ECU is so horrible that it really does take away from the enjoyment of this car. If your results are anything like mine, it's a total transformation of the car. I'll put the caveat that since there are tons of factors here including climate, weather, air pressure, fuel quality, octane, ect, your results may vary. Jack, Aaron at the rest of the guys at Unichip have put together a bunch of maps to compensate for those conditions.

I actually had planned to remove the Unichip when my car goes in for it's service in a few weeks, but now I've decided that I will leave it on... just so I can show the service department how good these cars can actually be.

I got my kit all installed and working good. Started back up on first try no problems etc etc. However, how do I get access to this database to download a new choice of maps? I sent an email off to Aaron, but I figured I would ask here as well because so many of you have done this already. I went to the sharefile site on the instructions and I put in my email but I have not received and email back (I checked spam folder and all of that), I am sure I am missing something simple, thanks forum!

would it be safe to run a low octane map (87 or 89) while actually using 93? what would be the effect of doing this? I'm considering purchasing a unichip soon as it would be nice to have the ability to switch to a lower octane since most of my driving during the week is just stop and go traffic to work and it would be nice to save money on gas. Also just in case there's ever a major gas shortage like last year after Sandy. I know i can simply switch the map but I'm curious though if i was to leave it on the low octane map but put 93 in what would happen.
