Exhaust and turbo comparable ?
So this is either going to be a good question or a really stupid question!
Do you need to have a special mid pipe or over pipe in an exhaust system when you plan to have a turbo? |

Depending on the placement of the turbo, it could radically change the position and flow of the exhaust.
If you buy a kit, most will come with flanges that replace the stock part in the exhaust that the turbo will be inserted to. Custom setups may require you to do some modifications to get the turbo in there. simple answer: yes :P the car wasn't designed with a turbo in it, so the exhaust does not have the hookups for it to be installed. |

The BRZ/FRS exhaust is as follows:
When going turbo, a majority of kits will replace the header with a turbo manifold AKA a header that's reworked to connected to the turbo. Directly off the turbo is the downpipe(most commonly known as) that is I believe every case thus far connects to the factory front pipe. "Header-back" exhaust kits will bolt up to pretty much every turbo kit, your only real decision you have to make is if you want single exit, duel exit etc. You mentioned Borla exhaust, what components do you have? |

Just a thought. I think T1R dual exhaust will do the job ! I used to have it on my s2k with Greddy turbo kit and it works very well !

Catback will be directly compatible with every kit, minus a rear mounted turbo, which I only know of one kit like that anyway.

This thread (and OP question) were incredibly helpful to me! as i have an amazing catback invidia exhaust, and I'm considering getting the other header back components.
