Does the A/C cut off upon hard acceleration?
I'm still breaking the car in so no redline yet.

Whoa! I guess I will find out once I pass 1000 miles. I always turn off the a/c when I have to accelerate hard in my other car.

It drops power to the compressor (no cold air), but it still sucks power) according to the butt dyno.

My RX8 did this to both give you more power and protect the compressor as the engine had such a high redline.

Every modern car (see around 2000+) that wants to help conserve the life of the compressor does this. It disengages the clutch at certain high RPM's to prolong its life.

Also, yes, the compressor will turn off at high engine revs. That is also typical of the Impreza STI |

Yes it does, all modern cars disengage the AC compressor under decent acceleration to save fuel as well as help the car wring more power from the engine when needed. In the case of decently high-revving cars like the FRS, it does so to save the compressor from over-spinning as well.
