Right there with you. When I get an exhaust if I do, I want it to look "stock" I dont want anyone to look at it and say "oh thats got an exhaust".

I mocked up the Motiv HFC and OP, and sounds like stop but you can feel a nice increase in power. Ive scheduled her for a dyno tune this coming Friday, well see how she does.

I do plan to get the overpipe, a catted/resonated front pipe, and headers (if available) while leaving my cat-back 100% stock.. hopefully in the next few weeks sometime.
UPDATE: Finally got it all installed & tuned! http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31790
To answer your original question.. YES, you can make significant power gains (without too much noise increase) while keeping your stock cat-back exhaust.

Good plan but the Nameless axleback on mine sounds sensational and I drive out of my way just to keep hearing it harmonise with the induction.

I'm sure the Nameless sounds great, but I wasn't really going for "sound".. just the best bang for the buck bolt-ons (without too much increase in noise, as the OP stated). Headers & catless front pipe + a tune trumps any axleback for performance gains IMO.

I appreciate what you are doing but just thought I would mention what you are missing, the symphony that sums up all those mods. I never tire of hearing it.
I would imagine the OEM muffler is starting to play a melody.

Yea I'm not too big on cool-sounding exhausts.. Sound is so subjective anyways.. I just want a quiet one, so the stock is good enough for me if I can get the power gains elsewhere.
