That sucks for the BRZ Limited owners but you might be in the wrong section...unless this a glitch that is also in the GT86.

The recall is expected to begin by the end of April, and it only affects Subaru vehicles that are equipped with the remote starter accessory kits, meaning that OEM keyless entry fobs integrated on the vehicle key don’t apply.
I'm not aware of a subaru remote starter accessory kit for the BRZ, thus, not a problem.

Yup that's why i rather just get in the car and start it old fashion way not lazy. BUT "OEM keyless entry fobs integrated on the vehicle key don’t apply" so doesn't matter.

Yeah, keyless entry and remote start are 2 COMPLETELY different animals. BRZ Limited owners running stock keyless entry have nothing at all to worry about.

I don't do remote starters, the risks outweigh the benefits. I remember the news snippet about someone leaving their mustang in gear and it taking off with the remote start was activated by accident. My BRZ isn't this car anyway.

I dont understand where you're coming from with that?
A manual is quite often left in gear when turned off, especially on a hill, which should be common practice. If a remote start is engaged, this will not be good for the car I would imagine.

You don't usually see OEM remote start offered on manual transmission vehicles.

That if you properly park (in gear, handbrake engaged) I doubt the car will actually start or lurch off. Might burn up the starter motor trying.

And OEM's don't offer remote start on manuals.
