Nah!! It was about 5 secs a lap at least, only ran the street radials at QR, KU36's I used when I did Lakeside for the first time - wear rate is unreal!! When I look at the front left after six meets on the same corner, that's around 250 laps, it's not even 'feathered'!! A radial would be shagged after ONE day!

The KU36 was designed for the Sports Car Championship in USA, but also the prefect road tyre, google and have a read!

I remember back in the days of the Hume Weir Circuit [sadly no longer] when you could screw a set of radials in ONE day!!

86 WON'T be tracked!! Not when I have the NB MX5 and the other is a specific built MX5 B-Spec by Mazdaspeed designed as a road/track car, but for me too rare to hit the tarmac [only one in Australia]

Seems fine, mine moved from 'scheduled' to 'in production' almost the day it was built and from there it was 6 weeks to me collecting

I would assume yours will have been built around the last few days and now be on its way to Yokohama for loading, add six weeks and that's around 13-14 April

If it says 'Scheduled for Production February' that WILL happen, just your tracking can take a couple of days to update

Enjoy the ride!! Jacob Toyota? [I'm ex Wagga Wagga]

5 seconds a lap is an amazing improvement.
From my quick google search, I see a few mixed reviews (mainly wet weather performance). But overall, seems to be a good track tyre.

Damn, that is rare!

It is - 77/150 built in 1989 - know of only 3 others worldwide, 2 in England [41 & 144] and 62 is in Finland

I picked it up knowing it needed a 'refresh', cost almost $6k but still had the whole thing back on the road for under $13k. Guarantee it would give the 86 a run up thru the gears, it's damn fast! When they did the 'refresh' they also did port & polish, port matching, fully balanced, new pistons at 10.5:1 compression, has s/s extractors and also full s/s exhaust. Was raced in Japan and the scrutineering stickers are inside the bootlid

Was designed so that it could be tracked but also legally registered and the BEST thing? The Yanks never got ONE!! Didn't meet their emission standards!!! [hell, it does under 7.5L/100km day in and day out even with a few revs to 7000+] Funny, they will claim 'no such thing - you mean a cafe racer', then you get the 'prove it' and that's easy, ID plate under the bonnet gives build number etc lie 'MS11-20077'

I bought it March 2011 knowing the engine needed a refresh, quoted $3,000 + unknowns, so I decided 'OK, $6,000 for the engine then add the car' Engine ended up $5,600 as it had to have new pistons [rather than replace just one] and a few other things, so now under the bonnet is like new - sits on 15 x 6.5 Kings with the KU36 tyres

I was careful running in, maybe a little TOO careful, it did use some oil first 2 services, not severe and no smoke, but now 4,500km since last service and no usage and still nice colour - current with 213,000km

Haha, guess someone will post but I don't give a sh-one-t!!

Yea, work to that date, 27/4 to Dealer then add a couple of days

PM me with email if you wanna few pics of it

Roger

As said before, it looks awesome! As do the rest of your cars :happy0180:

I'm just excited it's going to be built, I'm assuming it will be built around the 15th of March if its suggesting the 27/4 at the dealership. Does that sound about right?

15/3 to 27/4 is 43 days, mine from build to Dealer was 47 days but that was also over 'holiday' period and it sat on the docks 'in storage' for 12 days - so that should be about it

Go by what they say is the latest 'estimated' delivery, all good .. it WILL come!!

Thanks For the help Zero
Now the wait gets more exciting. And a little worrying.
There has been two carjackings in 2 days, minutes from my house! First was a Mazda 3 SP25, second was a 200 SX.

Change of Dealer happens to quite a few .. thru no fault of the Dealer customers start looking around when their order doesn't seem to move, I did that after almost 4 months having been told by TMCA '2/3 months for a GT' so managed to score the GTS thru an outback QLD Dealer! TMCA does NOT preference you when your order is placed, they allocate to Dealers and pick the orders out from that - my original order will have been amybe a week or two short of 12 months when it finally arrives here

Was down in WW over Christmas, the Dealer claimed to have 3 unsold 86's but to be honest I never saw ONE let alone 3

OK, more f*****g rain forecast for the weekend here, maybe 100-200mm so not sure if I will get out and have a run in mine, potholes etc you can't see when full of water and I know too well what can happen! Lexus IS200, water covered pothole, splayed front wheels and 4 x crease marks in the roof!! Got that fixed then sold it

Yours won't really be that long, time flies! Just stay here and enjoy the wait with a great bunch of people [excluding me!]

PS: 'f*****g' = flaming!!

From what i've heard Pushbutton starts are very rarely stolen, as they are quite complex electronically.

Or so I was told by an ex-NRMA insurance assessor, who worked there for 7 or so years.

That is assuming you got a GTS... and they aren't just tow-jacking them.
