Just got my Hot Lava FR-S 6MT

Hey all, I have been wanting an FR-S since I first saw the first concept, and I just new that I had to eventually have one. I gave up on the pre-order because I got a new job and my future was uncertain. Also had to spend a year paying off my old car. Even though I was not sure if I would be able to pull off getting the FR-S my sales guy kept good communication with me and eventually told me that there was a manual Hot Lava coming into the port of San Francisco soon. Honestly I just wanted to come sit in it if he had time. But between then and this last Friday I was able to get some money together and work up a down payment that allowed me to get a loan that was very affordable.

It's still kind of sinking in that I now have the car I have been lusting after for years and years. Now to track down the local meetups.

So here she is, my affordable dream car and me at the dealership. The other pic is my FR-S and my friends AE-86 that he is slowly restoring. He had to replace a lot of body panels.

Thanks for reading.

Congrats, very nice! The Hot Lava color looks so good on this car, almost picked that color instead of the Whiteout. Enjoy! :happy0180:

Congrats, man. Like the others have said, it's a great color. That's the color I test drove the third time around and I really liked it. I think it's my second choice next to what I ordered, Whiteout

Thanks, can I ask why you went for the Whiteout instead of the Hot Lava?

Oh you actually got to test drive. My dealership was not offering test drives at all. :/

But I figure with the dozens and dozens of glowing reviews and frankly most car reviewers reaction like this:

I thought a test drive was not going to be a problem. I am gonna miss my Yaris (believe it or not), but its soooo nice to have a proper sports car. So damn nice! It's been a long loooooooong time coming.

Ha yeah! My buddy Rob has put a lot of blood sweat and tears... but mostly blood, into his 86. Mad to him for sure!

I always love it when I go to test drive cars with my dad. He works for the same company that owns about 20 stores in the Midwest and he makes a lot of money for them. So we literally walk in to any store, ask for keys, and they just hand them to him. No salesman required to ride with us so we actually get to "test" it . It always surprises me when we get to drive cars that I've heard a lot of people aren't allowed to drive. I'm pretty lucky

Take care of that sexy beast, and tell your buddy to keep up the great job restoring that beautiful machine that is the AE86. And if he ever gets tired of that AE86 to holla at me, looking for my 2nd AE86 to restore! Cheers!

Congrats! I've had my Lava MT since January, and I love it. Personally, I think it looks more like an exotic in this color than any others.
