If you want it going switch to non-ethanal gas. I did and noticed a diffrence after 1 tank. Here is a link to stations that sale it.
I use this site to find stations

At first I had plenty of chirping, but since I've been using non-ethanol, no chirping going on here. But if I'm not near the station I go to, then I'll put a couple gallons of 93 with ethanol and the chirp comes back until I can get the good stuff in it. Another good reason for non-ethanol is not just to eliminate the chirp, but I've been getting better gas mileage (average 3mpg more) and noticeable performance...especially being that the comp ratio is 12.5:1

I plan on waiting until later to get a new fuel pump, since the TSB is good until 60 months/60,000 miles.

I have no interest in having my car worked on for a noise that (based on the responses here) has a decent chance of coming back.

Admittedly I am biased as I have no interest in having my car worked on for a noise that has been stated to be no harm.

My stealership now claims that its teh direct injection causing the noise and not the pump, I'm sick of this shit.

I haven't had it either.. almost 4K mi on the car now and no chirping. Granted I also picked up my car in early december.. likely a later production run where the problem might have already been corrected on the assy line.

i didn't wanna start a new thread or do an hr worth of searching, but if you don't get the chirping fixed, will anything break? or is it mostly just something noisy?

Nothing will break. The part is functioning just fine and doing its job. It's just making an "annoying" noise to everyone that sounds like crickets. The pump itself has no issues.

Until there is a new part number for the HFFP, I won't be replacing mine. I started this thread to see how successful Subaru/Toyota's TSBs are working out for FR-S/BRZ owners.

Mine returned within a month. Or at least to a point, it's reduced though.

No crickets 1500 after the pump replacement last month. Supposedly it was the newer pump version... but the car still sounds like shit at idle. You could say I traded one sound for another... Just can't win... I'm not going to worry about it anymore.

I finally noticed some sound from the hood today and opened the hood to listen to the engine while the car is on... i cant tell if I'm hearing this pump chirping or if its the direct injection ticking...

You can tell right away when you give it a little gas and let it go back to idle. If you hear the tone get more rapid then slow down to a chirp, you'll know it is the fuel pump rather than the DI.
