Damn that's really shitty. As per usual the Scion dealerships continue to do such a stellar job and exceed all of our expectations. I dread having to bring my car into service for the 7,500 mile check up, I bet they are doing to treat my car like shit and add about 15 miles.

So I spoke with the service manager today. He wants to take a look at it himself personally and make sure it's fixed. He also said that he'd have another tech re-do the tail light installation to make sure it is installed correctly.
I'll be leaving my car with him and I'll be getting a loaner vehicle. He was apologetic and sincere, which is all I could ask for. I'm pretty satisfied with the response so far. |

90% of people are hopelessly stupid and/or don't care about their jobs and the quality of work they do. Some of us try to do the absolute best we can, regardless of job/industry. Clearly this tech was in the 90%. Why would you pry on the light from the outside to remove it? I must have changed my tails 10 times already experimenting with my custom gaskets and I don't have one scratch. Just have to push on the mounting bolts from the inside. It was clearly sloppy, lazy work.
I'd also like to get my hands on all of these "defective" tail light housings, because there's nothing wrong with most of them. It's the gasket. Anyway, hope it works out for you.
