Ok I'm very excited with these specs. I'mhopping I can average around 35mpgs on this baby since I'm averaging 29 on my 08 legacy. And this car weights 600 lbs less is rear rwd vs awd and is a 6sp instead of 5sp. Sounds attainable

The tC starts at $18700 here in the states...I think they will price the FR-S at 25K for the High spec. I actually think they will go with the two specs 22K for the low spec and 25K for the high spec. Or we will just get one spec...the high spec..The low spec is too low in equipment...

They can also go with a mix for the US.

Some stuff from the high spec, some from the low. I wouldn't be surprised by that, then have a "tech package" or something to that effect with the HIDs, fog lights, LEDs, auto climate control, keyless thing (whatever toyota/subaru calls it).

Sadly, in Canada the RX-8 is actually about $40,000

at the very bottom of the spec sheet scan underneath the chart, it says スタマイズグレードは1,190kg (stomize grade is 1190kg) *2 カスタマイズグレードは13.4km/L (*2 customize grade is 13.4km/L)

probably the *1 カ (*1 and cu in customize) was cut off in the picture. if you look closely you can see an *1 next to the weight (車両重量) and *2 next to the mileage (JC08モード走行燃費)

There are 2 theories on break in procedure... #1 drive it like a granny for a few thousand miles... #2 drive it easy for a bit and seat the valves, springs, rings, bearings, etc etc then, change the oil to a break in specific oil, then , run the nucking futs out of it, then as soon as you break 1500 miles you change the oil again and drive it like a normal everyday car. There is supporting arguments for both but I would say, do it how Toyota recommends in the books so you have no warranty issues.

also just to clarify it doesn't say anywhere in the spec sheet that the customize grade will come without powersteering. was that mentioned in a Tada/Tsuchiya interview?

Maybe the 'customize' version from the brochure is the 'R' version that was mentioned before. Chances are that we won't see that one in the USDM. We've never seen other manufacturers bring such trims here, but that truly would be an awesome deal. Maybe $18-19k, stripped, I would be all over that one.
