My eye doctor is signing a notarized affidavit for me, so I shouldn't have to do anything, right? I should be able to leave it as is show the affidavit and go on my way?

Yeah, just take it to the county or city courthouse (depending if it was a trooper/sheriff or a city cop, respectively) with the ticket and someone there will take care of it.

Do you think your doctor will do a group affidavit for all of us so we can all get 25% tint?

Why would you want your tint to be darker than legal when it is just a reason to get pulled over?

Because I've always had light sensitive eyes and now after I've had LASIK done I find that I'm wearing sunglasses even on over cast days. So it's not just to look cool, it serves a purpose, and if I have documentation from my doctor saying I need it that makes it legal.

I have also been informed that once the doctor provides me with the papers I can go to the DMV and have an annotation put on my record that I need darker windows. So when the police pull me over and look up my name it's already there.

I highly doubt it, I had to have my eyes examined to get it, and he did my pre-LASIK exams as well.

I'm not questioning you here so please don't see it that way. This is a legitimate question that I've always wondered: If you need the darker tint for medical reasons, does it really do you any good when you still can't tint the windshield?

For the front I can flip down the visors and wear a hat and sunglasses, I did mention a clause for having the windshield done very lightly(like 65-70%) for UV/IR purposes but didn't want to push my luck(we'll see if he puts it in)

Does anything think a optometrists affidavit would allow for tinting of the front windshield? My wife is super light sensitive and would love her windshield tinted.

It might be allowed it was specifically written into the affidavit that way.

There is a clear tint out there that blocks uv rays. Don't know if it will help but you might want to look in to something like that.
