lots of room the kit you see there has all the holes required of an intercooler. it wont be any bigger. and im thinking this will fit with some strut bars even, there is a ton of room in the engine bay.

Sorry, but don't you think they would have checked the most simplest thing of all when engineering a kit for this car?

Yeah, my bad for thinking that another 3 inches of height on that pulley might not clear the hood.........

didn't i just say the plenum volume wil not change? in fact it will be smaller with the intercooler cores integrated into the same manifold. only one manifold will be made what you see in that picture is how it will be. PD SC don't need or like big plenums. smaller is more efficient for throttle response.

if you're worried you could get one of these hoods and it might solve the clearance issues (will have to wait to get measurements though):

What I am confused by is in all the talk from Scion.Subaru was that the engine was lowered to get the CG lower but also the hood lower(to see better etc) yet you can fit an entire Supercharger on TOP the manifold. Very few cars let you do that still. Almost like they had this planned...........

Is it that hard to believe they didn't? In reality, even with the hood lowered for visibility, there is a LOT of room under the hood of this car. Besides, with new intake runners, they could be slightly reshaped to allow the SC to sit nearly at the same level as the original squid-cap, which would keep all the common chassis modification fitment (STBs, chassis braces, etc).

Indeed. Official statements read like "While its certainly based on the BRZ engine, Subaru denies the new turbocharged variant will be found in any future BRZ. Subaru spokesman Dominick Infante said bluntly, "We have no plans to offer a turbocharged BRZ."

I haven't heard any statements denying FI or supercharging. Curious!

Subaru has never used a supercharger, unlike Toyota. but TRD has a tremendous record of making JUNK that's very expensive and doesn't offer significant power gains.

Well with it using the oem airbox.. i have airaid intake. i wonder if i have to put the oem airbox back on? if i dont i am wondering if removing the lid on the airaid intake box and putting a small scoop on the hood to force feed cold air directly to the filter would be a good idea?

You'll also see quotes flying around here from Tetsuya Tada about the 86 never seeing forced induction. His statements probably boil down to his vision of the car, but reading into the interviews, it seems like they intentionally left room for it. The other official statements probably come down to marketing, and not wanting to kill first year sales for the NA model.
