Garage
my thoughts on this are as they always are with new car launches in the summer. let's wait until after the SEMA show this fall as a ton of companies are going to be introducing their parts line there. I certainly hope the AP comes to the FR-S/BRZ because I loved it paired to my RX8.

It's simply capitalism. If the reward outweighs the risks, then it makes sense to tool that niche

I agree that they probably won't have anything out really soon, but if there is enough interest (like some of us are expressing here) its hard to imagine that they wouldn't at least consider it.

And no offense, but wouldn't this be competition for the product you're selling...

First off , I have over 10k in cobb software ... I own almost everything they sell.

They come out with this , I'll buy it and tune with it.

Wishing and begging wont make It happen.

I've talked to them about this as well.

From low level, to high level.

I welcome all factory ecu flash options.. Actually all options are good as it makes more choices for the customer - I always have the customers interest in mind.

But you all are getting everyone's hopes up.

It's not going to happen. <-------------

I have it on record from a very high level person at Cobb that they have no plans to work on any non turbocharged cars in the future. I was one of the very first Cobb Protuners for Subaru as well.

Yes and adding a turbo to this car doesn't change anything.

If it doesn't have turbo code in the ecu then forget about it

I mean please continue to talk about t, just don't make it seem like its coming out next month as some big surprise to everyone

Direct Quote: "The BRZ/FRS is an extremely cool car but we have decided to remain focused on the platforms for which we can provide exceptional value, outstanding quality and exciting performance gains. So we will remain focused on factory turbocharged performance vehicles, and will not be developing tuning or bolt-on performance products for the naturally aspirated BRZ/FRS."

Thats a customer car in Portland, OR. Any development will be done in Plano, TX the home office. Besides they own a blue BRZ not a silver FRS

I really enjoy the "well they're just waiting for more FI set ups"
Go back to your WRXs, how on earth could Cobb who deals specifically to vanilla universal tunes to specific group possibly cover every (or any) aftermarket set up that has thousands of variables in production??

Kicking, screaming and holding your breath till you pass out won't change anything. As many people and Cobb themselves have stated, they don't plan on doing anything with the twins. A factory FI FRS/BRZ would be a different story, but the current iteration is a no-go.

I mean think about it, as Meddling said they deal with the platforms they do extremely well at. This is what niche marketing is all about, and personally I'd rather buy from a large number of specialists than a small number of generalists.

Who's kicking and screaming? I think most of us on here are just saying we would like to see AccessPort for our cars, and I would hope that if if Cobb sees enough interest they would reconsider. Nothing wrong with letting a company know there is interest.
