Had to crank my browser's zoom to 200%, but what a massive review. Thanks for posting that. For those that can't read it, they basically pit the 86 one-on-one against the best car in each of the following categories to see how the 86 matches up. Their conclusions:

Driver's Car
- The 86 is a better driver's car than the Miata.

Performance Numbers
- The 86 clocks 1:15.9 around their track compared to the WRX at 1:14.1, but it can run repeated laps without issue unlike the WRX. For acceleration, the 86 ran the 400m in 15.2 s, compared with the WRX at 13.8 s.

Thrill Factor
- The 86 is not as hyper-responsive as the Renaultsport Clio RS on the track, but is drastically better around town.

Hoonability
- The 86 is as "hoonable" as the Holden SV6, aside from burnouts.

All-Around Excellence
- The 86 matches the Scirocco R for all-around excellence when you factor in the $12k difference in cost.

Conclusion: They call the 86 a "game changer" with a staggering value quotient.

Funny how they call it a 'game changer' with a staggering value quotient, yet in the next issue they rate it 10th in the Bang For Your Bucks challenge, despite all bar one of the judges placing it 1st.

Yeah thanks for posting that article up. I only skimmed it, but it sounds like they wanted to rank it first, but the formula they used to determine the winner placed a heavy emphasis on objective performance numbers where the 86's tires held it back. In particular, its braking numbers (worst in test) and track times (mid-pack) were really hampered by the non-performance tires. Regardless, we all know the 86 is not a "numbers" car, and the fact that all but one judge ranked it first (especially given the strong competition) tells me all I need to know.

You're welcome, and that's exactly my thoughts about the article and car too . By the way, the judge that didn't rank it 1st, ranked it 2nd. That's pretty bloody good in my book.
