Oil Overfill?

Yeah... the dealer... first oil change and they put in an extra quart. I manged to suck about 1/3 out of the dip tube--1/4" od plastic tube and big syringe. But that is all I can take as my tube is now sucking air! (The 5/16 tube would not go in... so has to be 1/4" or less, and that with a slant front edge cut.)

I suppose I can go under and use the drain plug... crush washer and all. But I am looking for an excuse not to. I know some track folks overfill in the absence of an oil-pan baffle...

Is the engine happy with the excess left in? Anyone know how to suck more out of the dip tube?

It would be a 100 mile round trip... (I would thank you for the suggestion, but apparently I am not trusted with a Thank button yet!)

1. It's fine, especially if you already removed 1/3 qt. No sweat.
2. If it really bugs you, maybe try getting more out by lifting the back (edit: or now that I think of it, the front), or parking on a slope.
3. It's fine.

The only solution at this point is to burn the dealership down.

"Lift the back"!! Genius!! First thing tomorrow... which means early afternoon as I am also old and lazy.

Does anyone know how sensitive these engines are to excess oil... foaming being the main concern?

They aren't. There's plenty of room in there.
