If my deal goes smoothly I may have one in my garage aside my GR86 next month.

The best I was able to find was $2500 over MSRP. I was 4th at this dealership and the 3 ahead of me passed because they wanted the Circuit Edition. This was the case at another dealership I was waitlisted on too. All others around me are asking 8,10,15,20 some even 30k over. Usually the 15-30k over sticker end up at 10k over.

I feel good about the 2500 over. I have about $2500 equity in my lease so I actually feel I need to get this done since used car prices are dropping.

Edit: To add, I’m on 3 waitlists at dealers promising MSRP and 1 promising $1295 over MSRP. One MSRP plus the 1295 over MSRP dealer is letting their employees jump ahead. One of them is the one who reached out and said I may or may not be next in line next allocation and the last one I have no idea what they did with their allocation.

yeah, that's a whole lot of card shuffling while still playing the lottery to get a car...

i get that toyota didn't want to make it into a normal production spec vehicle, but i feel like the ultra-low production run for a commodity vehicle price poses to damage the brand more than it does to increase favoritism towards the brand later on.

I had to bow out and ask for my deposit back since my MSRP deal required me to get $13k in dealer add ons. I'm just glad I didn't start removing parts from my FR-S since I had a feeling they were going to pull something like that.

Probably between 30 and 50 delivered to customers by now, maybe more. Looks like production is in full swing and there should be 400 to 500 new allocations per month for a while now.

For where you are that sounds like about the best deal you could hope for. Wouldn't feel bad doing that.

I saw your post on GRC forums. Bummer man. There was one ahead of you and the one behind you from the GRC forums. Marin Toyota isn’t usually shady with cars that have settled hype but damn when the car is hot they are super sketchy.

I actually used to work for them (sold cars). I liked their sales philosophy back then (which is one reason as to why I had repeat customers). Not sure WTF happened with them, I guess greed got to the new GM (I think they switched GMs several times since I left).

I saw one in person, didn’t drive it but started it up. It sounds very good. As far as I can tell, the shifter feels amazing.
Interior is so basic. Seats aren’t as sporty as you’d think. Maybe I’m spoiled from all these years of GR86 and BRZ seats. I have Corolla Hatchback XSE and those are way better. I can’t even feel a difference in the bolstering.
In-person the widebody-bits are actually underwhelming and pretty normal looking. Not as crazy as an FK8 Type R. The car looks bubbly.

I spent a little time today comparing pictures of the interiors, GRC vs the regular hatchback. Yes those seats look to be very very similar shape etc. the GRC upper part of the seat/headrest looks a little more Vader-ish and sporty but all the important stuff looks the same. And yeah material vs. XSE is clearly a downgrade.

Eventually.
Unless it flops or they decide to up the volume (it could happen) and they lose their shirts holding onto them.
