I have a hard time saying anuthing negative about this beautiful machine. If pressed, I would say that I've noticed some minor rattles and vibrations. nothing too serious, but noticeable.

-Highway Performance (Stability, Acceleration, Noise)
6th gear could be higher for 110km+ freeway cruising. But I guess its not a touring car. Minor issue

-Audio Equipment Performance (BRZ)
Speakers in my opinion are not that great. When turning up the volume past 25 (equalizer setting with the low's and high's turned up to around 4 notches below the max and a reverse bell curve or smile layout) the speakers tend to distort and noticeable buzzing from parts rattling from the speakers. Highs are crisp and clear, but bass is lacking, distorts, and creates buzzing. Additional insulation would be good from those buzzing parts.

-Unusual Interior Noise (BRZ)
There sounds like there is a flapping noise somewhere around 65-75 mph on the rear passenger side. Possibly the wheel well? There was a thread on this somewhere but I can't seem to find it anymore.

Not one of the areas but....#1 issue
Its a freaking Scion.
Wont go off but this has already affected north american sales its just not aparent over the hype. Toyota would have sold many more cars. The Toyota badges are flying off the shelf, nobody can keep them in stock. When people ask me what it is, I say its a Toyota 86 special ordered from Japan. |

-Other (BRZ - Limited)
The alarm should have been enabled when delivered to the customer. This baffled me why we had to do it ourselves.

<-- FRS owner
Front dash cover scratches easily. ( area where stereo is ) Some sort of matching material with the arm rests or door covers would be better than the hard plastic. Cool air vent - Air vent is very warm, forces you to use the AC when it is not really that hot out or shut off the venting. Lockable Glovebox would be nice. I am actually quite happy with the rest of the interior, console etc. I would like to see some more attractive knobs on the AC/Heater/fan controls though. That area could look better.

-Audio Equipment Performance (BRZ)
Customizable menu for layout of AM, FM, XM, CD, BT, etc. would be awesome! I never use certain functions (e.g. AM and USB) and would be good to have my most commonly used things on the same page.

- Unusual Interior Noise (Squeaking, rattling, etc and location)
Rear deck making popping (or ticking/tapping) sound. When rear seats are down, it sounds like a small stone is dropping on top of the trunk. When rear seats are up, the sound gets dull. It happens at any speed even at 5 mph in a parking lot. There are a number of people experiencing this noise in Japan and some of them were able to get it fixed. The fix is to adjust the spacing in the part circled in red below: I want to have this known to Toyota/Scion in U.S. also, so that I can get mine fixed too. ********** EDIT ********************** * I made a thread about this issue ===> HERE * ************************************* Last edited by Sigh-on-Rice; 08-01-2012 at 04:35 PM. |

-Engine Performance (Feel, noises, etc) -- chirping noises after normal warm-up of engine - so far only tested in 100F+ ambient temps, in Phoenix.
-Transmission (Performance, Quality) -- shifting is good, but the shift lever could be more precise -Steering (Feel, Aligned properly, car exhibit pulling left/right?) -- no adjustment for end user alignments, alignment could be more aggressive. In addition, at freeway speeds over 65, car will float left/right as the center of steering is not clearly defined. -Highway Performance (Stability, Acceleration, Noise) -- see above -Back Door (Trunk) Function -- difficult to close -Bluetooth Performance -- volume control on headunit does not work when samsung phone connected via bluetooth |
