No problem starting, did stall it once at stop light, car doesn't like slow take off at low rpm. Front left speaker seems to rattle, not sure why? Doesn't appear to be anything visibly wrong with it.

I realized I never made a thread to mention this when I should have, this problem is due to the speakers wiring harness pushing the grill up. Stuff the harness deep in there and you'll be fine. The dealer/SOA figured out this fix for me, 3 weeks now and it's been fine.

Edit: I originally had my speaker grill replaced because they thought it was warped. The grill/clips are NOT the root cause.

Glad to hear of a dealer who found the actual cause! I'm sure there will be an official instruction to dealers soon (if not already).

Adheadive and tape will not fix the cause of the problem, either would replacing the entire dash (expect more problems from that than what you have now). Keep in touch with your dealer and keep asking if there is an official fix.

If you're wondering, yes my speaker grill is fine still. The grill is NOT defective. It's simply the gubbins under the grill.

Not true. On the Limited model equipped with push button start, you can turn on accessories and theoretically prime the pump by pushing the button once ore twice before actually depressing the clutch to start it. Psh, "GTS version"...

What's it? The speaker "rasp" or "rattle" is parts not fitting together well enough and vibrating, happens in every car.

The "hard start" is likely this:

Well, The rasp is more of a static noise than a vibration noise. It's almost impossible for me to replicate other than the fact it only happens when I have a device plugged into the USB port, and it only occurs when i drive. I'm guessing it's a bad wire that's causing feedback somewhere.

Look up ground loop isolators. That should solve your problem. They're cheap and easy to install.

Link here for example. Don't get one from there, though, those are pretty overpriced. Should give you an idea what to look for though with a good explanation of who/what/why. I'd recommend one for any car audio application.

Thanks, although that should be a warranty thing since it's the factory audio.

Let me know if you take it in. From experience, audio issues like that are caused by some insignificant power line run too close to a speaker wire, something that fell out of a clip and is rubbing, or a cable that got caught under a bolt during installation. Very, very difficult to track down and diagnose. Definitely not worth the effort, IMO, but I'm curious what the dealer will say. I know my stock radio doesn't make that noise, but I have a BRZ which is a different sound system.

It is a warranty thing, I have been chasing this one down for a few months. I have had all the speakers on the drivers side replaced and the noise which to me sounds like (someone crunching up a plastic sack over a cell phone) is still there.

I dont think it is a ground loop as i experience no power pops, surges, or alt whine. could be the cheap quality of the OEM speakers. Not sure at this point.
