Not sure what you mean by"slots" but I guess I prefer it as a simple opening. You have the fender and this extension, and nothing in between. Looks more like an aero attachment than a vent I suppose

I still have work to do... I have to fill some pin holes, sand some high spots, add some material, sand some more, then prime again... but I'm getting there. Fitment is good...it will be better once I make my adjustments and add the mounting brackets. I think I'll work on my ABS sideskirt extension next. I'm leaning towards extending the rear overfender (mock-up pictured). Just trying to create something unique.

Second draft on these templates... I like the look so I'm planning on moving forward with the design. I have to sure up some measurements before I glass my templates. It's going to have a mesh grilles with openings on the back side of the skirts.
I also made my first draft of my sideskirt extension... it is pretty close. I should have it nailed down by the next draft. IG @zeal.eightsix |

Some progress pics... hope to have this ready for glazing tomorrow...
This part is coming out nice... I will open up sideskirt so air can exit through skirt and onto brakes/tires... Also, I'll trim that edge off my skirt mock-up ...I curved the bottom of side splitter under skirt... looks cleaner but leaves the aforementioned edge. IG @zeal.eightsix |

Thanks for all the detailed photos of your progress and work that you're doing along the way. It really helps to convey just how much work goes into a build like this. Truly a labor of love.

I have my panels almost ready for primer. I made a modification to the front add-on blade. The rear overfender add-on was not in my original plan... the downward sweep of the design clashed with the front add-on blade so I cut it to match the rear sweep. I'll post pics this week. I think I'll put more work into the sideskirt extention next.

Progress has been made! I'll square everything up better once I have 3M panel bonded the custom overfender add-on and installed my L-brackets and rivnuts.
I still have to make adjustments to my mock-up sideskirt extension so don't mind that too much. Btw, I'm going to cut an exit opening in the skirt and in the overfender (pictured) ... this modification will be functional. IG @zeal.eightsix |

Started from a poster board template, now I'm here... lol
Here are various views of my overfender add-on... Mesh grille will be bonded prior to installing add-on... once the add-on is bonded to the overfender, I won't have enough access to bond the mesh... IG @zeal.eightsix |

Crazy this project has been going on for a year and a half. Amazing dedication man. I probably would have thrown in the towel a long time ago. I bet you miss driving this thing. Regardless, I appreciate you sharing the journey.

I seriously can't wait to realize a finished product but at the same time I'm too anal to let things not be my kind of perfect. I'm learning how to do this stuff almost everyday... enjoying it quite honestly. There are definitely days where I wish so bad I was done... on those days I just try my hardest to keep my eyes on the prize. Time has always been my biggest obstacle... the learning curve wasn't too bad. I am a father, a husband, a gym rat, a reservist, with a full-time job and a very time consuming but rewarding hobby. I just can't wait to be showing again! Thanks for participating in my build thread all this time! IG @zeal.eightsix |

Any update?
Also quick question. What are you doing to hold the mesh on that vent (this thing)? I wanna do custom vents with mesh and trying to figure out all the options to keep the mesh stay without worrying about falling. Quote:
