Anyone check their VON with SOA recently?

I picked up someone's order as the previous buyer backed out and bought a BRZ outside of Illinois. I think i am no. 15 or no. 16 out of 16 from the allocations. Lucky me - I got the exact color (SWP), trim (limited) and tranny (manual) as I wanted.

Wow talk about lucky. I dont know I feel like the package I choose was the rarest kind cause even the SOA reps were like your choice is going to be rare, even the color Black the rep said was rare, which is got me scared in thinking Ill get my car super late....I think at this point Im getting really impatient, i guess 105+ days will do that lol

Finally received my call last night with a VIN and ETA of August 31st. WRB Limited Manual ordered March 24th and allocation 1 of 2 at Dealer.

Man, that makes me nervous, since I ordered black, limited, manual... My dealer seems pretty confident that it'll come in the next batch of cars landing in July/August, but I don't want to get my hopes up until I get a VIN. Ordered April 7, so just passed the 100 day waiting mark too

Please dont assume, that we all are getting our cars on 31st AUG. Those idiots in Subaru might revise it again to something in September. I had Aug 5th ETA and also got a VIN assigned and then got revised to 31st for no reason. I suspect they will do it again not to let customers cancel their orders.

I was under the impression that if we got a VIN, that meant that the car was built and in the country and only needed to be shipped to our dealer at that point.

I was also given an Aug 6 ETA and a VIN...I don't see how it could take about 2 months to get the cars to our dealers if they are already in the country (I got my VIN July 5).

So is that not how it works? Are VINs assigned before they get to the US now?
Needless to say I'm afraid to call my dealer or SOA to find out more because that would be some rough news...

So I ordered mine in May and was told it would be here within 2-5 months. They've given me no updates and I'm still on the waitlist and yesterday the manager called me and said they have one they could get that's already in the pipeline that will be here in September, same color and trim (swp 6 spd premium) but it has the auto dimming mirror, chrome fender trim, rear trunk applique and wheel locks added. She said she only sees a $550 difference but she'll get back to me with the total price after tax. I'm kind of pissed that they're getting all these floater vehicles and not completing orders. So with that said I don't know if this is bs to get me to pay more for stuff I don't even want or what. I'm going to see how much more it'll cost and if it's over $500 I'm not doing it cause all I even want out of those accessories would be the auto dimming mirror everything else is useless to me.

In my experience with other import makes, having a VIN simply means the vehicle is on the water en route to the US. It still needs time to reach port, get processed, put on a rail car, then put on a truck before it shows up on a dealer lot.

Hopefully the ETA is a generous estimate and the vehicle arrives early.

I have an ETA of early August and a VIN. Is there any correlations to the VIN ranges and when the delivery date is determined? Early August vs Late August. My last four VIN digits are 2321.

I ordered a premium manual black and got an ETA of December/January... on June 8th.

Are you still waitlisted?

I hope my car gets built in the same batch as yours...

Canceled my original WRB order from 6/19 and reordered Black on 7/16. Dumb move, but hopefully I didn't get pushed into 2013...
