Question Found fuel in intake-pipe

TL DR at the bottem
So last week monday I left my car at the dealer to get the recal fixed (I have a January 2013). Took 3 and a half days to fix it.
Got home to discover that my hoses to my Forrestor oilcooler were leaking. The specialized car shop I bought had giving me the incorrect type.
So I replaced the old one's with the OEM loop hose and I removed the intake pipe to do so.
When installing everything back I noticed there was some fluid in the resonator.
Poured it out into a small bottle to find out it was gasoline (pure, not mixed with oil or something else).
The amount was alot, almost 0,5 liter (~0.13 gallon).
But I'm puzzled how it got there?
So has anybody has any idea how fuel can get there?
The resonator was almost completely full, which can be found at bottom of the bend (the red square at the 2nd picture)
I also have RacerX catchcan for almost 2 years now, which catches alot of crap (incl some fuel).

Enginemods:
- OFT Stage2+ V4
- RacerX catchcan
- Forrester oilcooler (disabled for now)
- Crawford BPB
- OEM intake (incl soundpipe)

[TL : DR]
Found fuel in intakepiping, How does it get there?

Is it possible that someone used gasoline to clean the parts and forgot to drain the resonator?

I can't think of any other reason there could be that much collected on an engine that is running properly.

I just don't understand how fuel could get into that resonator with a fuel injected engine.

I figure someone put it there.

That's a pretty odd place for gas to get to.

Let's try to think this through logically. The resonator is downstream from the air intake. The crankcase vent to the intake is downstream from the resonator.
Slim chance it is a result of accumulated fuel vapour from crankcase condensing and collecting where gravity takes it. Might be a unique condition of some sort.
It sounds like someone, somehow, put fuel inside the intake.
The question is why? Which brings us back to condensed crankcase vapour.

Great English, BTW.
