Yes, just a hint of rumble. For me, road noise is more of an issue

Thanks all.

I've had an FT-86 Catted UEL header for about a year. Header quality is good, fits right in. No issues with installation, stock O2 sensor reused.

Car has stock exhaust and intake. OFT with UEL E85 tune from OFT website (no need to modify tune).

The sound is no louder than stock. The OFT cancels any CEL from aftermarket headers.

I kept the stock header for CA smog inspections since with any aftermarket header it can fail just by visual inspection.

I wanted a catted header for environmental reasons since the car was a daily driver. Now the car is only being used on weekends so I would go catless. With catless it will be louder.

You really need a tune to get the most out of the header. Most tunes are developed for catless headers so I believe it is better to go catless. If I would do it again, I would buy the OFT with the OF catless header and keep the stock header for CA smog inspections.

Thank you BrunoS72. All your points are very pertinent.

If I could get a catted header with a high quality catalytic converter, other than the cheap & spotty quality Magnaflow cat, I would go that way for all the same reasons.

Now it appears that I'll have to buy the catless JDL and tune it with the OFT.

That is IF I can find a black coated one in stock somewhere. I'm tired of empty promises and delays and chasing my money. Burned out a little for now.

Thanks, by the time I saw your first post the sharks were already in frenzy.

JDL doesn't have inventory, but being the high integrity people that they are, they have earned my business and I'll buy direct from them when they're ready.

Should I buy the OFT now to keep me busy while I'm waiting and if so whom should I give my business?

I bought my oft straight from open flash. I also bought a used openflash header for 380 bucks. Pretty good bang for the buck. I can't speak for jdl but I read that it's a quality product. If you don't need it right now I would watch the classifieds for opportunities.

Thanks. Didn't realize that Open Flash sells direct. Better to go there, eh?

JDL is one of the very few aftermarket vendors in my long experience that place the customer first and I trust them.

I would go straight to open flash. Bear in mind you can always switch to ecutek down the road if you feel the need to but for now a good header and open flash tune will really make a difference. My car makes s stocker seem lethargic

You may want to check on the cat warranty. I think it is covered, which is why they stopped making the catted version as it was getting too expensive to replace them.

Drive the 2018 tS and see what you think. They claim only 5 + hp but when I drove it I found quite a noticeable difference to the earlier car which had left me underwhelmed and caused me not to buy that yellow Special Edition at the time.
I'm certain that my butt dyno can't measure 5 flywheel hp so something else must be going on, probably the shorter axle ratio.
