Even if someone wants to take the chance to run around with an illegal kit, they still need to pull the kit off each time they smog, and that will be starting next year for 2013 vehicles, so I can imagine Harrop wanting to get the kit approved too, or lose more sales to Edelbrock. FYI, this thread was started on 7/22/16. That is almost two years ago, and it was for owners; ie, not a product release. On 12/04/2014, this thread was started, and people seemed to be buying their kits in late 2015: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ghlight=harrop And on The Racer's Line page: Quote:

Stick with stock plugs and gap. Don't worry about changing them until 60k. They are very robust and handle boost just fine. |

Im at 63k and will be changing when I install my kit. Thanks for the input. It seems that is what most people have been saying too, that oem is cold enough and the gap is fine, but it is good to hear it from you Thanks for your efforts to help them. Regardless of whether you stand to benefit financially from the kit getting CARB approved, neetheless, us owners in California appreciate the effort

There are a few smaller pulley sizes. 18, 20 and 22 psi pulleys I believe. Those are transmission breaking pulleys.

good, because long term goals are transmission breaking numbers lol. What stage 2 cam do you have? did you do anything like swapping the throttle body or valve porting? Mind sharing your engine build or is that a secret you can't share =]? I'm just really loving the numbers you're putting down without having hit the blowers limit just yet.

No issues so far. The stock pulley is only about 8psi. Lately most of the kits I have been selling have been bumping to the 9psi pulley off the bat. We are even running the 9psi pulley, on e85, on one of the shop track cars without issue. These cars and engines seem to be pretty happy in the 7-10psi range with good fuel and tuning.

So I just got off the phone with the gentlemen at Harrop. They are having an engineering meeting on the CARB process tomorrow. The have also assured me, that this WILL NOT be something they give up on. It WILL be CARB certified, so there is no fear of it not happening! |
