Real world gas mileage varies widely on any car based on a number of factors (how much city vs. hwy, short or long trips, light or heavy foot, etc. etc.) It is fair to assume that the tSwill average several mpg lower than other BRZs primarily due to the sticky tires. BRZ owners who have swapped the factory Primacy tires to stickier tires have reported losing as much as 5mpg. So you could buy the Ts and swap the tires for lower rolling resistance tires once the factory tires wear out (which shouldn’t take long based on how many miles you drive) to get better gas mileage. Why does your wife want you to buy the tS? If she just likes some of the cosmetic accessories on it, you could always install a few of the tS pieces on a PP BRZ later on and probably still come out ahead.

She wants me to get the top tier trim, I like most of it, could do without the spoiler and the lower mpg. It really doesn't matter that much to me, but why pay more if I don't have to.

Get what YOU want, that spoiler is ugly.

I’ve averaged about 25.5 mpg over the 1000 mile break in period.
A lot of stop and go freeway traffic, and a few canyon runs, but always under 4k rpm.

I believe they have s different final drive, they are supposed to accelerate better but also at the cost of fuel economy. At least in the website they are listed to have different mileage ratings.

Weather forecast is not the greatest for my drive up to the dealership. Might need to mount the winter set again.

I’m pretty sure that the tS has the same 4.3:1 final drive ratio that all manual transmission BRZs got starting with the 2017 year model. The tS also weighs a little more than other BRZs so if anything it’s a tick slower accelerating. The primary reason for the loss of fuel economy in the tS is the stickier tires, as I said earlier.

Does she realize that the tS doesn’t add any features over the Limited trim? It’s just aero and suspension tweaks, for quite a bit more money over what you can get a Limited w/ PP for.

You're probably right, for some reason I thought something was changed up on them.

Yeah, I explained it to her. She likes the idea of it being a top trim and being 1 of 500. And a couple grand isn't that big of a deal. I prefer the limited with pp over the ts, and ultimately I'll be the one driving so it's my decision. Was trying to gather some real world numbers as far as mpg. But if I rolled into work with that spoiler on the back I'd never hear the end of it.

People keep looking at it like the tS is only a couple grand more. As I mentioned before, the reality is that you can get a Limited with PP for $27k or less pretty easily whereas the tS are going for $34-35k... so the real world price difference is closer to $7k-$8k.
