I don't like the interior architecture of the corvette. I know it's a trivial thing, but it would prevent me from buying one. The 86 interior, FOR EXAMPLE, is simple and spartan, but I like the layout much more. The Corvette's is straight from the 90s and reminds me of the Supra cockpit. Way too outdated, they need to move on from that IMO. And it's not just the Corvette. Saw the same in the Mustang (though latest version is much better) and especially the awful Camaro with its big bulky gauge cowlings. Bleh

I agree with all that. I love the BRZ interior, especially once you cover some plastics with leather and alcantara.
I love the new Mustang look and power train but I hate the interior. |

Stop messing around... Maclaren p1 is th best track car for you! Oh wait you didn’t say 400k did you?
Lol. Just messing around. Personally I prefer the lighter options (86/lotus/Porsche) because you can really enjoy more of what these cars offer.

I am not sure how to put this... But, the car I'm thinking of right now is faster.

Oh, no. I dont care two bits about what you bought or drive or anything. You just have no direct experience with the other platform.
When you talked originally you almost made it seem like you cross shopped them, but thats not the case. C7s dont have "ls" motors either. |

OK, Mustangs do suck, period. I've never been more disappointed than when driving Mustangs. At least with a Corolla, I have low expectations.

The c7 having ls motors is debatable...

not exactly...
While they did redesign much of the engine in order to do those things I mentioned, and there's not really much carry over aside from some bolts and such, if it wasn't basically still the same platform they wouldn't be able to retrofit LT1 heads on LS blocks... and they HAVE...
It takes a whole new fuel system and what not, the headers are different etc, but what I said is basically true. It's a VVTI, DI LS...(which makes it a different engine while retaining a lot of what makes an ls an ls...) I'm not going to get into the weeds on this distinction. It's kind of like the difference between a ford 302 from 69 and a 5.0 from 95...still basically the same platform just changed for FI, etc... Jaden |

The main thing I can't get over is the 7-speed and electronic parking brake. I suppose those are minor nitpick complaints. Truth is I'd probably take a c7 over an 86, but I'd *much* rather have both in the garage.
