Has anyone else broken or had issues with their diff? Mine makes a hard clunky noise at low speeds and has a bunch of play in it. It still works but just the noise is bugging me’. It’s not the axles either. I just put new ones in and the clunk is still as loud as ever.

Jesus! Just did my first event after getting the knuckle kit, solid mounts, and traction + toe rods. What a world of difference. Car is wayyyyyy more predictable and the increased angle definitely helped me from spinning out. I didn't encounter issues with the sway bar binding either.
Has anyone upgraded their sway bars? I've had a night and day experience with my s13 and I'm considering them as my next mod. |

Thought I'd throw a couple pictures up of how having modified knuckles looks angle wise. Just have the Megan inner tie rods and cut and welded knuckles. Current limitation is the lower control arm. Looking into modifying that with a notch or something similar next. The modified knuckles make the steering a lot heavier, and it's actually a bit nicer to drive since you don't have to use as much steering input.
NOTE: looks weird because I had 235's on the front that were rubbing everywhere and have the car jacked up. I have 215's on the front now, will try to get pictures on the ground and pictures of the knuckle itself once it's not Antarctica outside.

Okay, so after Saturday's event, I'm pretty sold on cut knuckles/extended inner tie rods for a cheap alternative for a "legit" angle kit. The only issue I ran into was binding under high angle and deceleration. Other than that, the quicker steering made quick transitions easier. My total investment into steering angle stuff is about $350 right now, which blows any angle kit available out of the water.
Summary, if you drift your car and don't have $1000 for the PBM stuff, go to your local drift shop and have them cut and weld your knuckles.

i had a cusco 1.5 way in my s14 and forgot to fill the thing when i put it in (brought the whole pumpkin home with me from japan, drained it to save weight but forgot) it clunked like hell for the week it survived until the ring and pinion started destroying itself on the freeway. scary shit. swapped in the stock pumpkin and learned a very unfortunate and expensive/dangerous lesson.

ya, Fluid is full. After having all the noise issues and checking everything in the rear to make sure it was all tight I ended up getting all of the rear end solid subframe and diff risers along with adjustable RLCA's and adjustable toe arms from PartsShopMax. Had the car properly aligned and all the noises went away.
I cannot say enough amazing things about the products from PBM. Quality and fitment is second to none. Even the alignment guy was telling me how easy they were to adjust when he had it on the rack! If anyone is on the fence about getting any of the parts they offer for our chassis, Do it! You will thank yourself! |

Great results these! Still had to add 30mm spacers and put a spacer in the steering rack to prevent rubbing. Lmk if you have questions.

I guess it's actually called a limiter. It take away maybe an eighth of steering wheel turn. Just have to pull the boot away and it sticks right on there. |
