A couple things are sketch though... He lists the WRX specs in the ad but says it's an sti, but there's lots of legit details you don't normally see in a scam ad.
The interior pictures are taken from https://www.sdautoclub.net/2008_Suba..._269713757.veh
And you can't see the license plates.

That's fair. Didn't even notice that at first glance.

Would it really hurt to check it out though?

It doesn't, just waiting to hear back from him.
I'm ready to buy it today if he responds and it looks legit in person...

Ya the pics are a bit shady. I see a lot of pillars around it so make sure it isn't @humfrz selling it or there could be a pile of hidden damage.

If that doesn't work out, and you just need to buy something, I'll sell you this. Might have to throw in a little more cash though.

I was thinking that too... Old and lazy lol.

The bike storage in the pic seems like a Portlandy thing too... But I dunno.

Fer sure fer sure ....... since the seller is an old man and he parks around all those pillars, check the rear of the car carefully for damage ......

So, with the Subaru dealer being able to be seen from my balcony, I decided to more seriously look into a WRX. What an absolutely ridiculous idea I had to get one. The costs definitely add up quite quickly.

I guess I could negotiate things, and the FRS would be a bit of trade in/ down payment to take away some of the costs. But, I'm fairly certain I will not be buying new. Used maybe, but more likely, just keeping the FRS for a long while. Or until it gets totaled this winter maybe.

I find that a lot of fake STIs are being listed on autotrader they are just WRX imposters.

I wonder why they never brought over the automatic STI A-Line here, the pedal box with the newer LHD STI for driving stick sucks ass if you ask me.

I would love to have something like a 2009 Legacy 3.0R stationwagon for winter to beat on but they are both rare and pricey.

Hang on, do you mean you can see the Subaru dealer from your balcony, or are you really talking about the visual perceivability properties of a Subaru dealer? And if so, what significance does the balcony hold?

Isn't that up to the reader's interpretation? We could start a critical analysis of his post.
