Where do you buy the single and license? Is the dongle actually necessary? Sorry kind of new to the tuning stuff

Hey ! No need to be sorry, man. So you can get a hold of Zach at Delicious Tuning and he can sell you a dongle and a license. It is necessary since the license is embedded into the dongle and it’s tied into the license. Let’s just say the cable I’m selling talks to the car specifically through ecutek and the dongle is basically a key that is specifically tied to your car. Hope this helps ! I'm seriously considering this, but also missing some pieces in my knowledge. Is the cable something I would need no matter what? Even if I had a shop tune my car? I know there is a piece or two for this setup that you don't need if you are just getting 1 tune and having someone else load it.

Well, it’s not entirely necessary if a shop has one that would let you use it. You definitely do need a dongle and license without a doubt. Now here’s where it benefits to have the cable along with the dongle itself. One tune alone will most likely not be optimized and not have the latest updates since ecutek does provide updates and tuners that are active with Tuning are always findings ways to make power efficiently along with driveability stability. If anything , I would highly suggest having multiple refinements to your tune for safety and power. I know this since I was testing with Delicious Tuning and also had many updates from them. With the cable you can flash the car yourself via laptop. You then send them a log file that shows what your car is doing to the tuner which then they will send you an update and you can reflash yourself without going to the tuner every time. You can basically flash the tune and log parameters long as you have your cable , dongle , laptop , and car of course. If you have trouble with your car, you can log the file and upload the file to your tuner or even to the forums and have help from others to try and diagnose and see what’s going on with your car. You can also read check engine light codes as well on your laptop with the cable along with license and dongle. So all in all , to have the cable , there is a huge benefit such as updates , tube refinements for proper tuning and optimized safety with power , and being able to log which along with the previous optimization, you can diagnose the car. I would highly advise getting the cable along with the other things. Trust me on that one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is there anywhere you can buy a dongle without the cable? I can't seem to find any.
