I've just shot an email through to my dealer (Chatswood Toyota) to see if they can get me a logon to the Toyota order tracking website.

I ordered and paid a deposit on 21 June for a Red GTS Auto. Contract says est delivery 15 Oct.

I put a deposit on my 86GTS MT last Friday and just got my web tracking password today of course webtracking on says 'on order' at the moment but I have been told to expect a Dec delivery so I'm not worried yet.

Hey mate, which sales you are with? Anyway, don't bother, I've already asked for it heaps times...no way....they are not using this system, they only use their internal stock control system.

The dealer I ended up placing an order with sent me SAP screenshots prior to me placing an order, which had a scheduled build date (16/07/2012).

Apparently he is a stock controller at the dealership. Maybe as your guy to do the same thing?

Dealer got back to me saying he can't get me the login info, tells me my Oct delivery is now a Nov delivery but to make me feel better, he indicated that if I was to place an order now... Delivery would be June 2013.

Oh well. An extra month is not that bad, but was hoping my rego is closer to the middle of the year rather than towards the end of the year, would rather have $$$ for the summer and xmas/new year party months.

I ordered 6/6 Frenchy and my tracking info says the same. I'm not paying much attention to it really, its obviously highly inaccurate/gimmiky.

October? Now November? People who ordered before you have been quoted longer lead times. Fingers crossed it works out.

I can only assume it's because I wanted a flappy paddle auto! Been driving or rowing a manual gearbox around Sydney for the last 20+ years I decided to try something different. My understanding (reading all the various news and forums on the internets) is that there is a higher than expected demand for MT v AT and that could account for some of the longer lead times, especially if there is a 50/50 MT/AT production output at the single factory that's producing not only worldwide models of the 86, but other model Subaru cars as well.

There is definitely a higher demand for the MTs but the demand for AT is increasing. I think this is because most of the enthusiasts that have been following this car for a while now would have ordered a manual. But now that this car has been officially launched those that just want use it as a daily driver would opt for the ATs. Still reckon they should of done a 60-40 MT-AT split though.
