What made you guys choose BRZ/FR-S?

Hello, forum members. I'm curious to hear which factor(s) made you guys choose BRZ/FR-S? For me, believe or not, styling was the biggest factor that leads me to purchase a BRZ followed by it's handling and MPG. I remember I saw this parked BRZ a few years ago for the first time and thought it looks badass. Not to mention it's decently affordable too so that's a bonus. How about you guys?

I'm kinda with you on that; the look of the car. I, too, randomly spotted BRZ a few years ago and thought it would cost at least 30~40k to own judging by its look only. Came home and to my surprise price range was half of what I originally expected.

Rarity. I was originally wanted to get either Mustang or Camaro but seeing them every 5 miles on the road kinda annoyed me. At least here in Atlanta, I don't see many FR-S/BRZ on a daily basis whereas I see at least 5~10 Mustang/Camaro on my way to go home from work and work from home. Plus, the car looks good and good on gas. So why not?

I was looking for a sports car and preferred to stay with Subaru. At that time (spring 2014) factory didn't manufacture the old WRX STI and the new one was not released yet. For certain reasons I could not postpone the purchase for later and the only other option was to order the BRZ. It is a good car with a great chassis. It has a few weaknesses for cost and product placing reasons, but the fundamentals are there and you can work from this point to make it better.

Because it was new, RWD, and lightweight.

It was an easy transition from my Miata, like a coupe version of it.

Approached it in the dealer, saw it thought it looked nice while waiting for the bus I had just missed. Dealer offered me a test drive and I had a banana grin on my face for the entire test drive. Figured that was a good reason to buy it since I still wanted it two years later.

I wanted a car with similar driving dynamics to my old e36's without all the headaches and financial concerns. Not dissapointed.

I went with FRS. Main reason was price and less dealer mark up. I do think the frs front bumper looks more cool also. The badge on the car isn't really important it's the car itself, I have no problem rocking a scion

I was too impatient to wait the 2-3 months for the civic type-r to be released.

I was looking for a sporty car I could afford that potentially got ok/good gas mileage. I saw a car on the road I thought looked cool and had never seen before (BRZ). Figured it was out of my price range. Did some research and I found it was exactly in my range. Also found out my coworker had one (2013 6spd). So I drove hers and loved the car. Found my own and the rest is history
