Then let off the brake a tad. You don't mash the brakes. You apply maybe 60 percent and give it gas you don't have to floor it. Try it out on black top first. Its all about the pedal control both brake and gas. Its a feeling thing. You can do it in drive or manual mode. But turn everything off and turn sport mode for the trans on.

If you don't just do it yourself. RWD cars are easy. 😊

I love the way the 86 launches. It's so easy and controllable. I launched in the wet while driving home in the rain a few nights ago (Roads were deserted and it was a 4 lane road with islands separating slip lanes).

Was very surprised by how much grip the car kept in the wet. I actually think this car would eat up my old single turbo Supra in a wet drag, simply because the Supra would never put it's power down and would just sit and spin on a wet surface.

Arguably this is a car that should have a MT but it really does depend on what you're using it for and where. Mine is primarily a DD that sees some of the worst traffic in the USA so I make no apologies for choosing the best transmission for my car.

BW Parkway? After resisting the urge to get the MT, I settled on the AT 10 series a while back just for this reason. The 295, 695, 95, 495 morning/afternoon traffic is the worst. Try living in the DC/Baltimore area and using the MT as a daily driver. I've gone through many clutches doing this crap with other cars, and it's just a headache having to replace them so often. That and it's a pain in the ass, and even stressful going back and forth from 1-2 repeatedly while being stuck in traffic for 2 hours just about every day.

To be honest couldn't tell much difference from stock 4.10s. 70 mph is 2750 rpm and at 70 in cruiz control I can still get over 30 mpg.
Still the best mod I ever made.

To be fair so people don't go around thinking everything comes without any cost at all, you would be getting 40 mpg @ 2250 rpm though with 4.1 which is a very noticeable 25% increase.

Around town at 40 mph in auto mode (6th), won't make much difference to economy though.

Has anyone tried adjusting the brake light switch or pulling the fuse for the brake lights??? To disable the safety feature.... Their are ways around this, you could install a roll control solenoid to the rear calipers, presto a poor mans launch control for about 50 bucks....

Some people do not have enough money to own a second car for weekend use. So the FR-S has to be a DD and be used by other people in case of an emergency. I drove MT cars most of my life. When I went to buy my FR-S my wife did not want to learn to drive a MT car. I tried as hard as possible but no go. So I had to get a AT in case her car breaks down and she needs to borrow my car for something. Though to this day she has never driven the car and hopefully she wont need to.
