FT: 2009 Acura TSX for BRZ or FR-S //Chicago, IL

Hi, I'm looking to trade my 2009 Acura TSX with automatic transmission and technology package for Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ. I realize that this may be in a long shot but I still want to get it out there to see if by some odd chance maybe you have a car that you are just done having fun with and you want something that is very easy to drive and live with.

My 2009 Acura TSX:
I purchased it from a first owner in July 2015 with 38 000 miles, it was a one owner car with no stories. It now has almost 65 000 miles since I drive a lot, all the maintenance is up to date and the car needs nothing. The tech package includes Navigation, premium 5.1 sound and a back up camera. This car is in it's highest possible trim lever. You will also get a set of rubber, all season floor mats and a cargo trunk net. Brakes and tires are good, I also have a second set of OEM wheels with very good Nokia Hakkapeliitta R2 winter tires that are only on their second winter. The car also comes with all books, 2 sets of factory keys and a remote starter. It's a very reliable machine, it never gave me a problem and in the summer I get 28 combined MPG, I use the remote starter a lot now so my average is at 25.7. I have a clean IL title on hand the the car is ready for an immediate transfer of ownership. I am an automotive enthusiast and I know what it takes to maintain a car well, this TSX is getting it's lubricants replaced just like Acura wants it and it also get to seel in a garage during winters.

The car I am looking for:
It has to be manual. Silver, grey, orange are preferred, blue will do, too. Please let me know what you have so we can work out the details, I am more than fine with adding cash on top if your car is worth more than mine which most likely will be the case.

I don't want to just sell my car but I understand the rules here require an asking price so here it is: $12.500

TSX is an excellent machine. If I wanted a sedan, it's the one I'd target. I work with a lot of cars and different people at work and I see quite a few TSX's. What does not reflect well on the TSX however is that most people who own one are barely aware that they even own a car, much less a well designed excellently engineered well built machine. They are very dependable but not exactly a driver's car.

^ I agree, the TSX is a great car, very reliable and easy to live with. I can get 350 miles of city driving out a tank of gas, on the highway I can do over 500. StateFarm charges me $375 for 6 months and it's full coverage. It has heated mirrors, great surround sound and is very comfortable for all 4 occupants.

With that said I still want the BRZ / FR-S

I am new here but I have been a member of the NSX Prime forum since December 2008, please see my profile there for feedback score and statistics:

In my opinion, a bigger and heavier car like the TSX doesn't like it with manual transmission. I feel like the entire idea o driving a comfortable sedan is about having as little work as possible. In my car you can press a button and on a steering wheel and ask the car to adjust temperature or change a radio station - very handy while driving and drinking coffee

The Acura TSX has paddle shifters so you can downshift a gear or two with out removing your left hand from the steering wheel, I do that sometimes when turning at low speeds since I really hate when after you turn in and get back on the throttle the car still needs to downshift before it starts accelerating.

Either way, let me know if you want to talk. I am ready to act now.

Too bad, I'm still looking!

I am slowly making peace with the fact that this trade might not happen so I'm thinking I'll just buy the car I want first and then I'll just sell the TSX. Anyone here knows a good place to place a want to buy thread?

Last Friday I brought home a 2013 Scion FR-S, I am no longer looking for a trade.

Huge thanks to the forum and everyone who was trying to help,
Paul.
