How do you guys operate the reverse?

Currently I put my hand on the knob and pull the lever but I'm in the market for getting a longer: 4" (10cm) shift knob and I'd really like to know how the length affects reversing effort..

You just grab the shaft from the side as you pull up and slide it into the slot.

If you can't get it in the slot, just keep rubbing it around until it goes in.

its very easy, just just my index and middle finger to grip it and lift up and put it in to reverse. the shift knob isnt like 500 lbs, itss rather a good weight so its easy to put into reverse.
