First track day!

Should have left it with just the sound of the car....
I had to mute it.

Other than that, great vid.

Looking pretty good for first time out. Main thing I see is to improve is to put both hands on the wheel and stop hovering over the handbrake, only grab it when you actually use it. Keep it up

Yeah, I had the camera just to review my driving habits, although I ended up using some bits to make this video haha.

But that's the main thing I saw. It looks like I'm always holding the handbrake in case I lose angle, but that makes me not control the wheel as much as I could with 2 hands on it.

The other thing i realized is that my revs are usually pretty low, but I guess that has to do with the speed I felt comfortable with in this track for the first day.

But hey! I guess the purpose of the video paid off, and now I can focus on keeping my hands on the wheel and gunning it

Nice job for your first time out. Don't worry about your hand hovering over the handbrake, I did the same thing with mine. You tend to use the handbrake a lot with these cars.

It does NOT modify the axle angle at all. That's done with their Diff/subframe spacers/raisers or whatever they call them.

Just thought I'd make that clear, in case you go and slam your car, and the axle snaps, and you're there thinking why
thanks man. i kinda thought "well, it will go lower without altering geometry since it just lowers the shock position" ehhhh guess i didnt think it all the way through.

eh. still gnarly RLCA for cheap, and if i need to adjust rear camber for my wheels it will be a piece of cake. still havent ordered the wheels. i get home TOMORROW!
so hopefully my wheels will arrive in like a week.

Damn! Goals!!

Do you go to USAIR often? I'm trying to get out there regularly, so it'd be nice to get a ride along and chat about suspension setups

Not often since I live in Colorado lol, but I've been making it out there once a year for the last three years I think. I'd be happy to chat next time I'm there, but I don't drift the BRZ anymore, I drift an FC now. Try to catch a ride along and some tips from Alex Griff or Josh Maghirang, they drive USAIR a lot more and are both great drivers in that chassis.

I (and a few others I know) ran Stance coilovers with slightly higher spring rates (8k/9k) and set dampening at 15 front and 11 rear. Remove your abs fuse before drifting as that is the only way to disable all aides on these cars. Eventually upgrade to an aftermarket seat that holds you in place better so that you can focus on driving, some tie rods that give you slightly more angle, and get some nice aftermarket headers (I ran/recommend Nameless EL headers), and a tune. With those simple mods the car becomes much easier and funner to drive. But mainly, just keep practicing.

Definitely good job for your first time out, USAIR can be intimidating as well.

I don't have many in-car, only when someone puts a go-pro in but here is a video from last year. First two runs are my car when it was stock power (just catback exhaust), and third run is driving a friends FR-S with header and tune.

Hi guys. I already tried looking in local subforum, but no luck there, so I'll post here. Are there any drifters in SF Bay Area? I went to Thunderhill couple times this spring and want to do it again and looking for a company.

Are you running the sames tires on the street that you drift with, and that's why your not getting much grip during rain? Or it just happened to rain at the last drift event? 225 should give you enough grip in the fronts.

I've tried Federal SS-595's, Accelera Alphas, and Kenda Kaisers, and all have been pretty good. Kenda's didn't seem to do as well up front (soft sidewall maybe), but do last a while in the back.
