Hello - Had no idea there would be a watch thread here! Glad I found it.
I'm a WUS member, but don't spend a lot of time there. I have a fondness for the Seiko divers, new and old. Today I'm sporting a Ball Master Engineer II Sportsman. |

But then, it seems kind of weird having 2 identical looking watches. Obviously, I'm going to need a lot more money to buy a Patek and a JLC and a GS lol. One day...gotta plan ahead though right? |

I eat my words about the Seagull strap being okay, the one on my skeleton just had the mini leather loop to hold the excess part of the strap in break a few days ago.
I got the 3 dollar Ebay straps and noticed that the texture was just like the Seagull straps. Hoping that it was real leather, I put a little acetone on as an experiment...turns out it's bonded leather. Fairly sure the Seagull strap is also bonded leather. Still, better than the Seiko strap, which has a strip of foam filler between the bonded leather and the outside vinyl/PU layer! lol... @Dimman are there budget actual leather straps? I don't really want to buy a nice strap for these beater watches, that would be a waste. |

Latest eBay purchase. NaviHawk AT. Previously owned but looks brand new, and got it for a steal. I do need to replace the band though. The "rubberish" band makes my arm sweat.
The first "atomic" watch I've owned. Some pretty cool tech, I have probably changed the time and watched it reset itself more than I should admit to!

My Grand Seiko is currently with Seiko Japan for service. Took 4 weeks to get to their service bench and it will take another 3 weeks before it comes back to Canada. Hopefully $700 bucks well spent when all said and done.

I had no real issue with it resetting itself. Did it probably a dozen times with no issue. But, yes, just like GPS and a lot of other satellite signals, it does require "line of sight".

Just found this thread. I have started a small collection of watches. Including this one.
I also have an Apple Watch Series 1 but no sense in showing pictures of it. Looking for a good solar watch, and maybe one of the gt86 themed watches. Trying to find one other than the Orient is a bit difficult.

Bumping the old watch thread. Just bought my first quartz watch a few months ago. It's a PointTec, sold under the new Iron Annie name. My understanding is that the Junkers family wanted to go into production on their own and demanded a premium from PointTec to renew licensing on their name? Anyway it was cheap enough I don't mind wearing it daily and beating it up a little. I've stopped wearing the other two-a 1957 Hamilton StomKing V and a 1940's Movado.
