I wonder if there are any mechanical changes related to the engine to enhance the response and improve the linearity of the power delivery, or if the changes are entirely in the ECU. I'm also interested to see a dyno comparison to see where the differences lie.

Don't even get me started on how our American brothers pronounce Nissan as Knee-san >.<"
Back on topic. Wouldn't surprise me if they updated the FD ratio. That is something that will dramatically improve performance and otherwise leave the engine with the same outputs.

I haven't heard anything official about this. They mentioned something about changed gear ratios which is not exactly a solution to the problem. Anyway, let's wait to see when they give us more information. |

p.s. it better be fast with those gazillion buttons on the steering wheel. Clean steering wheel>>>>>>too many buttons. Just look at the WRX. >.< I feel like I can phone home with those buttons. 2018 Toyota FRS/86 to feature steering wheel built in full keypad and phone.

While it's certainly speculation on Moto's part, I hope his closeness to the developers of the car give him a better idea of what is happening to the car. To me it sounds like he's saying that while power will remain the same at the crank, a more efficient drive train will be providing more to the wheels and maybe even changing the way torque is delivered.
