DFW FT86 Shops

I've got a cam carrier leak which means pulling the motor to fix. Since the motor is out I plan to do some other mods.... clutch, flywheel, motor mounts and etc.

Any suggestions on where to go?

Smell cause the exhaust runs right under it. If it starts leaking it'll be the bottom side first. So look for drops on the pan right below.

Thx. I plan to use them. My issue ended up being the cam carrier plate. 2 weeks in and no leaks. I'm planning to do another deep inspection this weekend.

I have some tuning needs coming and PRT sounds like the best option

I can vouch for steve at PRT. Very knowledgeable, and was great working with him as I coordinated a dyno day with shiv.

Have any shops in the DFW area installed the full blown stage 2 kit?

stage 2 turbo kit? or stage 2 heads?

Either way, PRT Performance has done both.

how much was labor at PRT to build your engine out of curiosity, already using Killer Hot Rods for my wide body as suggested by you so may as well look into using another shop you suggest

It was $3,000 for the labor which includes removing and replacing the engine back into the car.

I provided all the parts and I also had them machine and clean the block and balance the crank which was about another $450-$500

I think it was an additional $300 since I had a turbo kit. So all together it was about $3800.

Not bad. I was expecting more.
