I think OP has his warnings mixed up and doesn't realize there's a difference between the shift nanny light and the rev limiter warning. Or maybe he really thinks he should shift at 7300 all the time.

I have it to help me make better choices when shifting. I usually shift 7k. I dont want to put unecessary wear on car for no reason. I put mine at 6.5k so i usually shift before now. I use the beep as my 7.4k equivalent.

I need to set my shift nanny light lower lol, I just like having it on when I'm sideways(busy concentrating on the driving more than when/if I should shift because approaching cut-off). allows me to focus a bit more on the maneuver.

Set mine at 6500, reason: when a corner is coming up and it's close enough, I know I won't have to shift Bc I have the 900 rpms to play with and not lose the tenths of a second shifting and get to stay in the powerband. Why set the shift light at the rev limiter? Defeats the purpose, and our cars don't make much power after 7000 rpm anyways if any

I have mine set at 4700 for the same reason. Why the extra 200? Because I find myself almost always upshifting (by feel or by ear) at 4.5k during normal DD driving and the constant beeping was getting annoying.
