Red tint? Black housing? Or both??

Hey guys, I have a little dilemma on my hands here. I bought a second pair of OEM tail lights to "customize". My original plan was to just tint them red...

Then I got to thinking, since it's a second pair, why not take my time and cut them open and black some of the chrome!

Thinking more...what about both?? What are your opinions on how this might look? Black or gray tail light housings with a red lense. Or should I just stick to one, not try both?

Any half decent photoshoppers care to demonstrate how it might look?

^thats pretty sweet looking. I just tinted mine read because I really liked the look of toms tails. But I didn't want to spend 500$+. Tinting them looks just as good

I'm curious how the black and red tint goes. I've always wondered since that's how toms red lens are black housed
