Use whatever works and feels best. 50psi is on the higher side, but no reason to change it right away if you like it.

What's everyone's favorite cheap-ish drift tire?

I've tried GT Radial (UHP1), Achilles (ATR Sport 2), and Federal (SS-595). So far I like the GT Radials the best, although they wear out the fastest.

On that note, I'm interested in learning car control beyond the limits of the tires. What tires would be good on the rears?

Just tried Federal SS-595's for the first time, they were a lot grippy-er than the stock OEM tires I'd been running. Just ordered a set of Accelra Alpha's that I'm hoping to try out this weekend.
This will only be my 3rd drift event, so I'm still new to all this and learning, but the Federals seemed to hold up pretty well to the abuse. They just took time to relearn how to drive on them since they gripped a lot more than the crappy stock tires.

Anybody else find a sweet spot for ordering tires, size wise and where to get them? Currently running 205/40/17's as that seems to be a good breaking point in price at OnlineTires.com

Yeah I am going back to Federals (currently on GT Radials). They are more expensive (I can get GT Radials for $69 local!), but they last longer and they are waaaayyy more welded-diff friendly. I've used the same website (onlinetires.com) for years, never had an issue.

I don't have an FR-S/BRZ *shhhhh*

I have been eyeing one for a while, though. I currently have a drift-prepped E46.

I finally headed out to the local drift track for the first time. Here's a video of one of the better runs I had. Car has stock suspension and stock wheels. Primacy tyres at the back and Pilot sports in the front. I didn't need to use any handbrake or clutch kicking anywhere.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVVEEr-We5Y"]Figure 8 drift session - YouTube[/ame]

I'm still very new to this and can't wait for the next event.

Any advice on what I can do better in terms of driving techniques?

Here's two videos of me from Saturday at Orlando Speed World. This is my first time drifting any car. Most fun I've ever had in my car. They had two different tracks a skid pad which I fucked my bumper up on a tire, which I posted the video, and then the oval track.

My girlfriend filmed them off of her phone. She's not the best camera woman lol.
